Located not far from Aups and the Gorges du Verdon, you will find Moissac Bellevue. The first mention of Moissac Bellevue is in 1052, when it appears under the name Moxiaco. Later in 1110, this small village appears again in the history books under the name of Moisac. Traces of a Roman colonization show that Moissac Bellevue was known and appreciated since the antiquity. Le Duc de Blacas, Lord of Aups, donated his co-lordship of Moissac to the Knights Templar in 1201. They then build a command, which is dependent on that of Saint-Maurice. They also build several other buildings in Moissac Bellevue, such as a Romanesque chapel. Another chapel, the Chapel of Notre Dame, is also build in the twelfth century, but this chapel is built just outside the village of Moissac Bellevue.
