Sillans la Cascade is located only 20 minutes from the St. Croix lake and only 60 minutes drive from the Mediterranean seaside. It is also near other beautiful towns such as Salernes and Cotignac. The bigger towns of Draguignan and Brignoles are 33 kilometers away.

Sillans la Cascade is a absolutely charming little village. Sillans has many attractions which are loved by it permanent residence and will seduce its visitors. The village has kept its medieval appearance. Sillans la Cascade appears from the outside as a large farm, tightly rapped by medieval village walls and where the centre is like an inner courtyard. You can admire the church of St Etienne (XVII), her beautiful porch and its stone walls. The walls with their beautiful towers dating to the XI century. Or have a look at the castle, under renovation since its acquisition by the town.
Sillans la Cascade would however not be named La Cascade without the well known Cascade or waterfall, hence the name of the village. This piece of paradise is known throughout the region and beyond. The waterfall comes from a side creek of the Argens, called the Bresque, which has its source in the town. The waterfall or cascade measures 42 metres in hight. To get at the foot of the waterfall, you must take a walk of approximately 800 meters, along a rather pleasant track with beautiful flowers and greens (in summer). The last bit of the walk is slightly more difficult, as no development has been done. Rather unsafe stairs of wood and stones on a path with shallow holes lead the way up as one needs to stop and hide under the umbrella of greenery, allowing the passage of people coming back from the top of the Cascade. But, as we say "it was worth it". The spectacle is wonderful and one should stay few minutes to contemplate the landscape. Unfortunately, it is not possible to organise a pick nick or seated lunch at the bottom of the Cascade, next to one of beautifully coloured basins. There is no space. It is, one seems to think the thinking of the locale municipality, in order not to distort the landscape.
We can not remain indifferent to a landscape so beautiful: one needs to have visited the Cascade of Sillans at least once. If you enjoy the various seasons of the year, this place and its colours change each season one goes and every time one visits.
