Villecroze is located 22 kilometres North West of Draguignan and 20 kilometres South of Lake of St Croix and Gorges of Verdon. Today, Villecroze has a population of 1.101 on a surface of 2.068 hectares. The name of VILLECROZE comes from 'Castrum of Villecroze or Villacrosa is located at an altitude of 350 m. The village is situated on the foothills of the Alps of Provence, surrounded by a circle of green mountains covered with pines and oaks. The old town has retained its medieval character with its arcades, its narrow streets and its campanile, the former dungeon, which is adjacent to the castle. Villecroze also has a splendid the Romanesque church which dates back to the 17th century and the chapel St Victor which dates back to the 12th century.
